Wild Nights (by Emily Dickinson)

Emily Dickinson

Wild Nights—Wild Nights!
Were I with thee
Wild Nights should be
Our luxury!
Futile—the Winds—
To a Heart in port—
Done with the Compass—
Done with the Chart!
Rowing in Eden—
Ah, the Sea!
Might I but moor—Tonight—
In Thee!

Anybody that overlooks Emily D for any reason is missing out on some complex and passionate poetry. For someone who closed herself up in a room and dressed in white, she's smokin'!

Love this.... proves you don't have to be overt to be passionate. Also that people who are quiet don't have feelings...
and that love is more than about sex.. or should be.

meant to say that they do have feelings not don't... I changed my train of thought mid way.

A perfect example of saying so much and projecting great emotion with very few words. Lovely! I know that feeling...
