Poems are cheap whores (by Kevin Eberhardt)

Kevin Eberhardt
Poems are cheap whores
& I can’t tell if I’ve already
Written this one or not
Maybe if I gave a little
Somethin’ extra the experience
Might be a bit more memorable
For me at least / I’m sure
To a poem we’re all the same
Once we’re done it’s back to
The wife or girlfriend with
That shit eatin’ grin & all’s
Right with the world / at
Least until we get the urge
Again / Damn / are you
Sure I haven’t already written
This / all right / all right /
Come here Baby / Daddy
Loves you / yes he does / you
Wanna touch Daddy’s pencil
(Jesus / I’m gonna be sick)
