Sarcophagi (by Kevin Eberhardt)

Kevin Eberhardt
Sarcophagi
Not into idol worship
Would rather adore beauty
Would rather smell a woman’s
Desire than the bad breath
Words of dead poets & aging
Journeymen to feast my eyes
On female flesh & listen to
Her sighs of pleasure & want
Watching breasts rise & fall
Faces flushed in desire
Thighs trembling & lips
Quivering tongues darting
To taste life & new words of
Blood red wine
Leave the dead to the dead for
Only they truly understand loss
I will be with them soon enoughfor more Kevin Eberhardt poetry, please check out

Would you sign a document testifying to that fact (it's very rarely I get 'agreed' with)?

I was particularly struck by the lines, "Leave the dead to the dead for, Only they truly understand loss, I will be with them soon enough"

I think Death must be experienced to be understood. I'm not yet that curious...
